How to care for your woolens?

Every piece from The Wool Knitters is made with love and deserves gentle care in return.
Our products are crafted from natural Himalayan wool — a fiber that’s self-cleaning, breathable, and made to last. Treat it kindly, and it will stay by your side for years to come.

Eco Souvenirs

Small keepsakes made of handspun and handknitted wool.

  • Hand wash gently in cold or lukewarm water using a mild wool-safe detergent or baby shampoo.
  • Rinse thoroughly and gently press out excess water.
  • Lay flat to dry on a clean towel, away from direct sunlight or heat.

Once dry, store in a cool, airy space — your little wool treasure will stay beautiful for years.

Sweaters

  • Hand-knitted sweaters crafted from pure Himalayan wool.
  • Hand wash gently in cold or lukewarm water (below 30°C) using a mild wool-safe detergent or baby shampoo.
  • Give a light swirl — never rub, wring, or twist.
  • Rinse thoroughly and lay flat to dry on a towel, reshaping as needed.
  • Avoid hanging, sunlight, or direct heat.

Leg Warmers & Hand Warmers

Soft, stretchy wool knits that keep you cozy and snug.

  • Hand wash separately in cold water with mild detergent.
  • Do not bleach or soak for long.
  • Roll in a towel to absorb excess water, then lay flat to dry.
  • Store folded, never hung, to maintain their shape.

Berets & Beanies

Delicate knits that shape beautifully around your head.

  • Hand wash gently in cold water using a mild detergent.
  • Avoid twisting or wringing; instead, press softly to remove water.
  • Dry flat on a towel, reshaping while damp to maintain fit.
  • Air them out after wear — often that’s all they need!

Shawls

Finely woven or knitted wool wraps that deserve extra care.

  • Dry clean only. These pieces are delicate and can lose shape or texture if washed at home.
  • Store folded with natural moth repellents like neem leaves or lavender sachets.
  • Avoid direct sunlight or moisture.
